Packing Tips for Chardham Yatra

To make your journey smooth and stress-free, here are some basic packing tips:

  • Warm Clothes: Even in summer, the weather in the hills can be cold. Carry thermals, woollen socks, sweaters, and a good jacket.

  • Raincoat or Umbrella: Sudden showers are common in Uttarakhand. Pack light rain protection.

  • Comfortable Footwear: Walking and trekking is a part of the yatra. Wear good quality sports shoes or trekking shoes.

  • Personal Medicines: Carry basic medicines for fever, headache, stomach upset, cold, and your regular prescriptions.

  • ID Proof: Keep a few copies of your Aadhaar card or any government ID. It’s needed for check-ins and registrations.

  • Power Bank & Torch: Electricity is limited in remote areas. Keep a torch and a power bank for your phone.

  • Reusable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated during the trip. A refillable bottle is handy and eco-friendly.

  • Snacks & Dry Fruits: Keep some light snacks, glucose, and dry fruits for energy on longer travel days.
